Halloween. For me the word brings so many sensations and memories flooding into my mind. The bright orange of the pumpkins lined up in rows or thrown in huge piles at the grocery stores and roadside sellers. The leaves turn a vibrant red, orange or yellow and fall to the ground. Pumpkin Spice from Starbucks, kids collecting candy from door to door dressed up in the scariest costumes, Fall festivals, bobbing for apples, and the smell, my god the beautiful smell, of Fall.
If you can’t tell, Halloween holds a very special place in my heart. I remember walking with my parents in the local neighborhoods dressed as a scary monster, knocking on someones door,
“Trick or Treat!” I would say.
Halloween Savannah Ghost Tours
Every radio station was playing Halloween songs like The Monster Mash or Purple People Eater. There were the signs pointing to corn mazes and haunted houses. Yes, this was always a magical time.
It was also a great time to sit around and tell each other scary ghost stories. For some reason, I was always good at that. I would have others sit as I recalled the tale…
“Mad Henry was a hermit who lived alone in a decrepit mansion at the edge of town. Rumors were rife about the wild-eyed man. Some folks said that he was a magician who called upon the powers of darkness to wreck havoc upon his neighbors. Others called him a mad doctor who could restore life to foul corpses from the local cemetery. No respectable citizen in town had anything to do with Mad Henry”
I had them hanging onto my every word, and as the fire died down low and the story came to an end…a JUMP to the nearest person sent everyone scattering in fear!
I believe it is my love of Halloween and telling a spooky story is partly why I began doing Ghost Tours in Savannah. Now, as an adult, I get to walk the dark streets at night on my Savannah Ghost Tours and tell about the dark history and forgotten lore. With Halloween so close at hand I can’t think of a better time to join us on one of our Savannah Ghost Tours. We offer two different tours.

Our second Savannah Ghost Tour is the Midnight Voodoo Tour. This is our adults only, uncensored ghost tour. This one begins at 10pm and ends at the witching hour 12am! This Savannah Ghost Tour goes into some of the more gruesome stories that Savannah has to offer.
